DARKNESS | THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT
We are created in the image of the Original Creator whose presence spans beyond our universe, and beyond our capacity to comprehend. I am inspired by His magnificent creation to create… so I look to His story… and consider ours in light of it… Maybe it’s not just the story of the creation of the universe, but the evolution of every single life that finds His Light.
The Creation (from Genesis 1:1-4)
In the beginning Elohim (God) created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning Elohim created me within my mother’s womb; my soul & spirit for the heavens and my body formed from the earth to walk upon it…
The earth was without form and void (a waste, emptiness);
My body had a shape, but the purpose as to why my soul & spirit were within it was without form, void, empty; this heavenly potential within me slept on, unawakened…
and darkness (obscurity) was on the face of the deep.
obscurity (noun): The state of being unknown, inconspicuous, unimportant;
The quality of being difficult to understand;
A thing that is unclear
Obscurity rested on my face like a veil obstructing my vision… This darkness created a state of unknowingness. The issues of life inconspicuous, lacking clarity. The spirit of unimportance convinced me that my choices were unimportant, my voice was unimportant, my very existence unimportant. Where I came from, who I was created to be, and greater knowingness were concealed. Like poor vision uncorrected, things were blurred. This veil covering my face, I looked in the mirror yet I was unable to see who I was.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And the Spirit of God was hovering nearby, always. The Spirit of the Most High was brought to earth through His Son, Jesus the Christ, “the Light of the World” who walked with mankind, showing us firsthand how to shine light on obscurity, to live life without the veil. His Spirit waits to light up the lives of those who call it forth.
Then God said, “Let there be light”;
I caught a glimpse of this Light through the lives of others, and following the example of my Creator, I prayed, “Let there be light in my life”…
and there was light.
And through His unending and perfect grace, light began shining in my life…
And God saw the light, that it was good;
The more I came to know God through His Word and His Spirit, the light shone brighter on every aspect of life. My vision became clearer. I could SEE. I could now see there was a difference; some things resided in good and while others resided in darkness.
God divided the light from the darkness.
Now that the light revealed so much. I had a choice to make. Would I live double-minded, turning from the light that I now knew of?
One foot in fear, the other in faith…
One foot in self-control, the other in immediate-gratification…
One foot in love, the other in hatred…
One foot in peace, the other in turmoil…
I read in my Creator’s book of Light,
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
I cannot live without this clarity. I don’t know who I am without this Love. Just like you did, God, I shall leave behind the way I lived while in darkness and press into the liberating way of life in your Light. I shall establish Your plans of peace, hope, and love. I shall seek you wholeheartedly and I WILL find You.
my God… let there be light!
